That being said I would like to know if someone savvy enough could tell me if there is a difference between starting the Editor up manually (as it's own entity) or automatically upon Windows login vs calling it from the Snagit capture application. This is particularly frustrating because I am a project manager who carries his laptop around from meeting-to-meeting and I don't appreciate a "background" application that isn't doing anything be the reason why my battery drains so quickly.
There are times that I can get this process to work and the Editor will behave "ok", but usually it isn't long before it is running amuck and causing performance issues. This trend also continues if/when I shut it down from Task Manager and try to start it again manually (because most of the time I can't stop the editor normally while its running like this). When the editor automatically starts upon Windows login it almost immediately starts consuming large chunks of CPU and Memory. I am having the same problem now w/ Snagit 11.
